Our team over at Amergin have been privileged to be involved in the design and development of Everyday Practice, a Free NDIS Resource designed to help NDIS Providers and NDIS Participants understand what best practice NDIS service delivery looks like, on an everyday basis.
As Australia’s first free NDIS online education and capacity building platform, Everyday Practice aims to bridge the gap between compliance and service delivery in order to substantially increase the quality and safety of supports delivered to NDIS Participants on a day-to-day basis.
The platform contains a collection of accessible resources based around important topics such as Provider Registration and Participant Safety and the NDIS Code of Conduct. Resources are available for both NDIS Providers and NDIS Participants to access for free at anytime, from anywhere.
The inclusion of a dedicated Helpdesk and Forums (relating to each of the resource topics that are released), has also enabled a unique collaboration opportunity for NDIS Providers and NDIS Participants to get support from both Amergin’s team and each other.
As the recent Coronavirus Pandemic has also impacted NDIS Service Delivery, Everyday Practice now also houses a range of supporting resources and a dedicated Helpdesk and Forum responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The platform has been designed and built with accessibility in mind, currently adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA standards with the goal of reaching AAA conformance in the coming months.
Everyday Practice is delivered in collaboration with Queenslander’s with Disability Network (QDN), as a recipient of funding under the NDIS Commission’s Support for NDIS Providers Program. Additional technical advice and expertise is being provided by the Community Resource Unit, Richmond Fellowship Queensland and Projects for Purpose.
